Be sure to set up any desired CTCSS or DCS tones, as well as any desired repeater offset. STORING INDEPENDENT TRANSMIT FREQUENCIES (“ODD SPLITS”) All memories can store an independent transmit frequency, for operation on repeaters with non-standard shift. To do this: Store the receive frequency using the method already described under MEMORY STORAGE (it doesn’t matter if a repeater offset is active). Turn to the desired transmit frequency, then press and hold the [MR/MW(SKIP)] key for one second. Within five seconds of releasing the [MR/MW(SKIP)] key, rotate the DIAL to select the same memory channel number as used in step above. Then while holding the PTT switch in, momentarily press the [MR/MW(SKIP)] key once more (this does not key the transmitter). Whenever you recall a memory which contains independently-stored transmit and receive frequencies, the “[–][+]” indication will appear in the display. The “Odd Splits” feature permits setting TONE/DCS individually for transmit and receive. You can confirm the Transmit and receive TONE/DCS by alternately pressing of the [REV(HOME)] key. MEMORY RECALL While operating in the VFO mode, press the [MR/MW(SKIP)] key. The “MR indicaMR” MR tor will show that you are now in the Memory Recall mode. An easy way to recall memories is to key in the memory channel number, then press [MR/MW(SKIP)]. For example, to recall memory channel #16, press [1]-[6]-[MR/MW(SKIP)]. 18 FT-250R OPERATING MANUAL Memory Operation MEMORY OFFSET TUNING Once you have recalled a particular memory channel, you may easily tune off that channel, as though you were in the “VFO” mode.
