The shutter speed is automatically set according to the aperture which you specify. Rotate the mode dial to [ ] manual photography mode, and press the OK button. Press the OK button again and the camera is ready to take the next shot. Before capturing an image, you can select an aperture using the / buttons.

APERTURE PRIORITY
The aperture-setting choices include: F2. 8, F3. 2, F3. 6, F4. 0, F4. 5, F5. 0, F5. 6, F. 6. 3, F7. 1, and F8. 0 When aperture F2. 8 is selected, the shutter speed is limited to a maximum speed of 1/1000 sec. If an appropriate aperture/shutter speed combination cannot be obtained, the frame around the image histogram turns red. The aperture value will vary depending on the position of the zoom lens.

[Tv] SHUTTER SPEED PRIORITY In the shutter-priority mode, images are taken with the priority given to the shutter speed. The aperture is automatically set according to the shutter speed that you specify. If you select a fast shutter speed, you can take images of moving subjects that look they are still. If you set a slow shutter speed, you can take images that make you feel as if the subject is rushing by, capturing the essence of motion. Rotate the mode dial to [ ] manual photography mode, and press the OK button. Press the OK button again and the camera is ready to take the next shot. [M] MANUAL In manual mode, you may select aperture and shutter speed to individual values before capturing images.

If the histogram frame turns red, this indicates that the exposure is not appropriate due to the combination of aperture and shutter speed. When the manual mode is used, the / buttons set the shutter speed, and exposure compensation cannot be used. To set the appropriate exposure, adjust the shutter speed and aperture. When aperture F2. 8 is set, the shutter speed is limited to a maximum speed of 1/1000 sec.

White Balance
The human eye adapts to changes in light so that white objects still appear white even when the light changes. With cameras, however, the color of the subject is influenced by the color of the light surrounding it. This setting allows you to set the white balance when capturing images under specific lighting condition. Rotate the mode dial to [ ] manual photography mode, and press the OK button. Select the icon of the desired setting item using the / buttons, and press the button. [. . . ] Refer to section in this manual titled "Protecting Images and Video Clips" for further detail.
SLIDE SHOW
Your camera can display your images sequentially as a slide show. Refer to section in this manual titled "Slide Show Display" for further detail.
RESIZE
Using the resize feature you can reduce the size (resolution) of image to 320 x 240 pixels or 160 x 120 pixels to create a smaller image.
