Deleting an outgoing message
To delete the personal outgoing message, press announces "greeting has been deleted". The system
Setting the base ringer volume
If you receive an incoming call or press talk/flash, (talk), or the operation will be canceled.
You have three ringer options. You hear the ringer at the current volume level (" " High, " " Low, or " " Off) (if you set the base ringer volume to off "off" is announced), and it appears on the base. You can also set the base ringer volume while the phone is ringing, press set/ringer repeatedly to select the desired ringer volume.

Adjusting the speaker volume level
When the base speaker is in use, press or on the base to adjust the volume. 0 being the softest and 9 being the loudest.
Using the Menu Mode
The Menu mode allows you to set the following Answering System functions. · To scroll through the menu options, repeatedly press menu on the base in the standby mode. · If you press talk/flash, (talk), or during the menu setup, the operation will be canceled. If the system remains idle for 30 seconds, you will hear a beep and the system returns to standby. · You can use or to adjust the announcement volume level during a voice prompt/guidance. · When you have completed the setting, press to exit the menu mode, or menu to move to the next menu option.
For your convenience, voice prompts will guide you through the menu setup mode.
· When you press in the maximum volume level (9) or in lowest volume level (0), an error tone sounds. · Press and hold or on the base to scroll quickly through the volume levels.

Setting the Time
The clock on the TRU448 series answering system starts when power is supplied to the base. The message counter displays the day of the week (from " " Sunday to " " Saturday). 2) Press or until the correct day is announced and the corresponding number appears. Setting a Personal Security Code
To play your messages from a remote location, you will need to enter a two-digit Personal Identification Number (PIN) code ( ). A confirmation tone sounds, the system announces "Security code" and the new PIN code.

Setting the Ring Time
The ring time setting allows you to set the number of rings the caller hears before your answering system plays the outgoing message. Setting "TS" (Toll Saver), the answering system picks up after two rings if you have new messages, and after four rings if there are none. This way, if you make a long distance call to check your messages, you can hang up after the second ring to avoid billing charges. The current ring time setting is announced (" " 2, " " 4, " " 6, " " Toll saver), and it appears on the base. [. . . ] This type of installation is not difficult; however, you should contact your Uniden telephone dealer or a telephone supply store for advice about the proper adapter or converter for your particular situation.
Connecting the Telephone Cords
Consider these safety guidelines before connecting the telephone cords: Caution!· Never touch uninsulated telephone wires or terminals unless the telephone line has been disconnected. · Use caution when installing or modifying telephone lines.
More than One Cordless Telephone
If you want to use more than one cordless telephone in your home, they must operate on different channels. Press the channel key to select a channel that provides the clearest communication.
