Following these warning and cautions will give you many hours of enjoyable and safe riding. ITEM IDENTIFICATION Before operating, familiarize yourself with these items (see fig. 1A GRIPS SNAP PINS HANDLEBAR T-FRAME HEIGHT -ADJUSTER 110V INPUT, 24V OUTPUT BATTERY CHARGER QUICK-RELEASE BRAKE PEDAL AND FOLDING & LOCKING POWER CUT-OFF MECHANISM SWITCH REMOVA BLE PLAT STEERING ADJUSTMENT NUTS MOTOR BATTERY COMPARTMENT ADJUSTABLE TENSION DRIVE BELT HANDLEBARS DOWN TUBE FOOT OPERATED POWER SWITCH TOOLS REQUIRED FOR MAINTENANCE: PHILLIPS SCREWDRIVER, FLAT SCREWDRIVER, AND ADJUSTABLE WRENCH(S). [. . . ] FOOT OPERATED MECHANICAL BRAKE The Rear Wheel Brake is activated by applying foot pressure to the Round Brake Pedal (fig 1) located on top of the rear end of the scooter platform. This Brake is a friction brake . . . the hander you press the more braking action you will have. This Brake also has a micro switch that disconnects the power to the motor. RANGE AND SPEED When fully charged, the scooter will cover approximately 10 miles on level ground with a 100 LB. STEERING ADJUSTMENT NUTS, BICYCLETYPE You will need to periodically check your steering for play or looseness. The steering tightness can be adjusted by turning the ROUND HAND NUT clockwise and locking with the hex niut (fig 1) CHARGING When shipped the batteries are fully charged. For extended battery life, DO NOT discharge Batteries completely before recharging. Following this simple rule: When the starts to slow down on level ground, it's time to recharge. CHARGING PROCEDURE In order -with charger in hand, locate the Charge Socket under the scooter (fig 4). Next, plug the charger into a standard 110/220 volt electrical out-let. DO NOT OVER-CHARGER-SEE CHART when finished unplug Charger from the wall outlet then scooter and replace cap over the charge socket. To insure that the batteries are fully recharged before use but are not overcharged, please follow the charging times recommended. HOWEVER, OVERCHARGING DAMAGES THE BATTERIES AND REDUCES THEIR LIFESPAN. ALWAYS WEAR A HELMET CHARGE BATTERY AFTER EVERY USE 4 UFREE SCOOTER www. scooter-manufacturer. com Charging Procedure SCOOTER BATTERY CHARGING SCOOTER USETIME (BATTERDISCHARING) CHARGINGTIME (DONOTOVERCHARGE) 0 MINUTES -------------- 3-4 HOURS 20 MINUTES -------------- 5-6 HOURS 30 MINUTES-- ---------- 6-8 HOURS POWER USE REQUIREMENTS CAN VARY DEPENFING ON RIDER TRAVERSED. TIMES ARE RECOMMENDED AVERAGES. STD 110V WALL OUTLET 2 CHARGE SOCKET 1 IN ORDER: STEP 1, THEN 2 SCOOTER OPERATION FIG. 4 FIRST, ALWAYS WEAR AN APPROVED HELMET, EYE PROTECTION, SHOES AND FOR INEXPERIENCED RIDERS, WE RECOMMENDED GLOVES, KEEN AND BELOW THE PADS (fig 5). Before riding, be sure to have a clear unobstructed level path ahead of the rider firmly grab the Handlebars, place your front foot onto the platform just behind the Power Switch (BLACK BUBBLE). Go ahead and push off like a regular push scooter to engage the motor simply press the Power Switch with the front foot. . . To disengage the motor and to SLOE/STOP press the Brake Pedal with heel of your rear foot . As you become a more skilled rider, you will use a combination of brake and power to achieve optimum operation. ALWAYS WEAR HELMET FOOT OPERATED BRAKE FOOT OPERATED POWER SWITCH FIG. 5 ALWAYS WEAR A HELMET 5 UFREE SCOOTER www. scooter-manufacturer. com ADJUSTMENTS AND OPERATION REMOVEABLEPLATFORM The Platform is removable to gain access to the Batteries. To remove, remove the four deck screws with a Phillips screwdriver (fig 6) and remove Brake Pedal and spring. Reverse procedure to replace platform. SCREW (4) PLATFORM BRAKE PEDAL SPRING CAREFULLY REMOVE SCREWS, SPRING AND BRAKE PEDAL TO GAIN BATTERY ACCESS. 6 DRIVE BELT ADJUSTMENT AND REPLACMENT Periodic adjustment of the Drive Belt is required. When this occurs, you must tighten Drive Belt immediately to tighten Belt, loosen Rear Axle Nuts slightly and rotate the Belt Adjuster Discs equally (fig. [. . . ] IMPORTANT: These batteries are Lead Acid based and must be recycled properly. DO NOT return the scooter to the place of purchase if you encounter problems. AXLE SPACE REAR WFEEL AND SCREWS KICK STAND * SPECIFY CHROME OR PAINTED, IF PAINTED SPECIFY COLOR. 9 IF YOU HAVE ANY PROBLEMS£¬ FIRST CALL YOUR LOCAL DISTRIBUTOR TO OBTAIN SERVICE AUTHORIZATION. All repairs and/or replacements will be performed or processed through the LOCAL DISTRIBUTOR. [. . . ]
