MAC addresses are also known as hardware addresses or physical addresses. MAC Filter can control the hosts in LAN to allow or deny their Internet access based on their MAC addresses. Detailed Configurations MAC Filter Mode: Disable means no MAC Filter is implemented Allow means only the hosts with the MAC address in the list can access the Internet. Deny means only the hosts with the MAC address in the list can't access the Internet. ARP Cache: MB6800 collects the MAC address information of all the hosts that communicated with MB6800 and displays the information here. You can easily add the MAC addresses you select to the MAC Filter List by click the Add button. Access Control List: This is the MAC address list of all the selected hosts. You can add items with two methods: Select from the ARP Cache or type the MAC address manually in the MAC address edit box on the lower right hand side. All the access rules in firewall are set here. Detailed Configurations The access rules of the firewall in MB6800 have many access rule items. You can maintain these rules with the operations of: Add, Delete, Move up, Move down, Apply. Default Policy: Factory default rules; Enable Checkbox: You can enable or disable a rule by checking or unchecking this checkbox; Move up, Move down: The sequence of the rules in the list is very important for the firewall. When the firewall deals with a data packet, it will check the rules from top to bottom sequentially and execute the first rule which matches the character of this packet.
