[. . . ] Each time you press REC TO USB on the unit during recording, the system pauses recording for a few seconds to add a new track mark. The track numbers are automatically marked when you record more than 60 minutes. the number of audio tracks on the USB device reaches the limit for the number that the system can recognize. Up to 150 audio tracks can be contained on a single folder and up to 200 folders can be contained on a single USB device. The maximum number of audio tracks and folders may vary depending on the audio tracks and folder structure. When first recording the analog audio to an USB device, a "MUSIC" folder is created directly below the "ROOT. " Folders and tracks are generated within this "MUSIC" folder as follows: When recording from the tape deck Folder name: "TAPE001"* Track name: "TRACK001"* When recording from the tuner Folder name: "FM001"* or "AM001"* Track name: "TRACK001"* When recording from the AUDIO IN jack Folder name: "AUDIO001"* Track name: "TRACK001"* * Folder and track numbers are assigned serially thereafter. GB Listeningtomusicof anUSBdevice You can listen to music stored in the USB device. The audio formats that can be played back by this system are as follows: MP3*/WMA*/AAC* Refer to "Compatible USB devices" (supplement) for a list of USB devices that can be connected to this system. * Files with copyright protection (Digital Rights Management) cannot be played by this system. Notes Do not use the USB devices other than those listed in "Compatible USB devices" (supplement). When inserting the USB device, make sure of the direction and insert it all the way to the (USB) port on the unit. Do not forcibly insert the USB device, as this may cause the device to be damaged. It may take about 10 seconds before "READING" appears in the display depending on the type of USB device connected. Note on the maximum number of tracks, files and folders on an USB device This system cannot play an USB device in the following cases. Notes on the USB device The system can play back up to 200 folders, including folders that do not contain MP3 audio tracks and JPEG image files. The file formats that this system can play are as follows: MP3: file extension ". mp3" WMA: file extension ". wma" AAC: file extension ". m4a" JPEG: file extension ". jpg" or ". jpeg" The system will play back any data with the extension above even if they are not in MP3/WMA/AAC/JPEG format. Playing this data may generate a loud noise which could damage your speaker system. 1 2 Press FUNCTION +/ (or FUNCTION on the unit) repeatedly to select "USB" (or press USB on the unit). Connect an USB device to the (USB) port . When USB cable connection is necessary, connect the USB cable supplied with the USB device to be connected. When the USB device is connected, "READING" appears and "USB MEM" lights up in the display. Some USB devices cannot be played back on the system depending on the file format. When the USB device is inserted, the system reads all the files on the USB device. If there are many folders or files on the USB device, it may take a long time to finish reading the USB device. With some connected USB devices, after an operation is performed, there may be a delay before it is performed by this system. This system does not necessarily support all the functions provided in a connected USB device.
