Wall-mounting the charging unit 26 mm max. ø 4 mm 2x 3 mm 7 Charging the battery The battery is supplied uncharged. To charge the battery, insert the handset either into the base station or the Gigaset 3000L Micro charging unit ­ you will hear the confirmation beep. The charging operation is indicated by a flashing LED on the handset: F 8 Battery /3 charged 7 Battery empty 1 Battery 2/3 charged Battery full · Initially charge the batteries thoroughly; we recommend charging the batteries for at least 16 hours without interruption ­ irrespective of the charging status icon. · Once the first charging operation is complete, you can replace the handset in the base station after any call. · The battery charging status is only correctly displayed after uninterrupted charging/discharging. Battery operating times/charging times: Capacity (mAh) 600 Standby time (hours) up to 200 Talktime (hours) approx. 5 Fitting the attachment clip Push the clip onto the back of the handset until the protrusions slot into place. 8 Activating/deactivating the handset B Press the end call key for 1 second. The handset automatically activates when the battery is inserted and when the handset is placed in the base station/charging unit. Activating/deactivating the keypad lock Key activation is ineffective when the keypad lock is enabled. To answer an incoming call, press the talk key D ­ the keypad lock is automatically disabled for the call. z To activate/deactivate, press and hold down for longer than 1 second. 9 Registering the handset You can change the display language* (see page 22). You must register a new handset at the base station before you can make any telephone calls.
