It works as follows It consists of several independently controlled inductors. When the zone is working, those inductors that are not covered by cookware are automatically turned off. To ensure that the cookware is detected and heat is distributed evenly, correctly centre the cookware: H in the upper or lower part of the flexible zone, when the cookware is smaller than 13 cm. (see diagram) H or in one of the two halves of the flexible zone, when the cookware is larger than 13 cm. (see diagram) When using cookware of a different size or made of a different material, noise and vibrations that do not affect correct working of the zone may occur. Advice on using cookware Consisting of two independent zones How to activate The flexible zone can be used normally as two independent hotplates. See the section on adjusting the hotplate. Now, select the required heat setting by sliding your finger along the programming zone until the required heat setting lights. 19 2. Changing the heat setting: Select the flexible zone by pressing on the symbol and change the heat setting using the programming zone To add another piece of cookware To deactivate To use the zone as two separate hotplates once again Press on the symbol so that the cookware is detected. Press on one of the symbols corresponding to one of the two zones making up the flexible zone. The flexible zone is turned off and operates once more as two independent zones. Childproof lock The cooktop can be protected against being accidentally turned on to ensure that children do not switch on the elements. Switching the childproof lock on and off The hob must be switched off. The hob is unlocked. Automatic childproof lock Switching on and off This function automatically activates the childproof lock every time you switch the hob off. You can find out how to switch the automatic childproof lock on and off in the Basic settings section. 20 The Powerboost Function The Powerboost function can be used to heat food more quickly than heat setting 9. Restrictions when using The Powerboost function may be used for all hotplates, provided that the other hotplate in the same group is not switched on.
