When not using a deferred start programme, the pointer "C" should always be positioned beneath the small hand of the clock. Button "B" : * pulling and turning this button in a clockwise direction : allows you to alter the time shown on the clock. Setting the time of day : To set the time of day, pull button "B" of the programmer until the exact time is displayed, then release the button. [. . . ] It is preferable to cook only medium-size pieces on the rotisserie and to cook large ones using the Turbogrill for example, which will give better results. The temperature can be regulated on all models, between 60°C and 280°C. It is also designed to continue turning for a further five minutes beyond cooking time, so that the any residual heat can be evenly distributed. Rotisserie cooking should always be done with the oven door left ajar. Ideal for keeping food hot without overcooking it, for meringues and also useful for keeping empty dishes warm. Pyrolyse (FE 5143 RU - FE 5573 RU) : Integral cleaning of the oven by burning off all the stains (grease, sugar) at a temperature of around 500°C. the pyrolytic cycle can be programmed (see the chapter entitled "The programmer"). According to the level of staining, the cycle can be set between 0 and 3h. Never cover the inner walls and bottom of the oven with aluminium foil. Each cooking method allows a choice of temperatures within the range indicated in the table below, except for the Defroster and the Warmer for the FE 5573 RU model. selecting a cooking method : turn the oven control knob to the method required (see pages 23 and 24). Just as with cooking times, the temperatures given act as a guide until you become familiar with the appliance. Personal experience will allow you, at a later stage, to adapt these settings according to your own tastes and requirements. PRE-HEATING TIMES : * 20 minutes for temperatures between 250°C and 280°C, * 15 minutes for temperatures between 150°C and 220°C, * 10 minutes for temperatures between 60°C and 120°C. Cake biscuits cake Endives with cheese and ham Gratin Roast Jacket Roast food pigeon potatoes pork USING THE ROTISSERIE : - remove all accessories from the oven, - place the drip tray on the bottom, - centralise the meat on the skewer using the two forks, - fit the skewer on to the support bracket, - slide the bracket and the skewer on to the second level from the bottom. The end of the skewer will then be facing the opening of the drive-socket, - engage the skewer in the drive-socket - next, turn the selector knob to the "rotisserie" function - and turn the thermostat knob to 280°C. On the FE 5573 RU model, the rotisserie is timed; it continues rotating for a further five minutes after cooking has finished, in order to distribute the residual heat evenly. It is advisable to cook only medium-sized pieces of meat on the rotisserie and to oven-cook bigger ones under the Turbogrill. - Equipment according to model - B : This type is particularly suitable for cooking meats with the grill or turbo-grill, as it is fitted with rails so that the drip-tray can be slid underneath. Both types of shelf are specially designed so that they always stay horizontal, even when pulled out to the maximum extent. * Never use the drip-tray for roasting, as this will cause fumes, grease splashes and rapid staining of the oven. Small pieces of confectionery such as buns, shortbread and meringues can be placed on it. [. . . ] Before implementing a Pyrolyse cycle : - Remove all oven accessories : they cannot withstand the pyrolyse temperatures without being damaged; - Remove any large spillages or residues, as it would take too long to destroy them. - Close the oven door, How to operate the Pyrolyse cycle : - Turn the selection knob to the left until it indicates "Pyro", - Set a time on the programmer, according to the degree of staining, with or without a deferred start (see the chapter entitled "The Programmer" on pages 4 & 5). The cleaning system can be activated at any time of the day or night (you may wish to take advantage of lower electricity tariffs), thanks to the programmer (see chapter entitled "The Programmer"). It is recommended that cleaning take place immediately after cooking, to take advantage of the heat already in the oven, thereby saving energy. [. . . ]
