Replacethe trimoverthefrontedgeofthe seatbottom. 27 6 - Locking Lap Belt Installation 6. hilepressingonone W armrestoftheProRIDE, pull theendoftheseatbeltstrap totighten. Tohelpsecurely tightentheProRIDE, press downontheotherarmrest andagainpulltheendofthe straptofurthertightenthe seatbelt. Repeatasneededuntilthe ProRIDEcannotbemoved morethanone inch (2. 5 cm) inanydirectionatthebeltpath. Ifbeltguideshadtobe openedforrouting, closebelt guidesoverseatbeltwebbing andsecureclosed. helevellineindicatoronthe T seatbaseshouldbelevelwith thegroundwhenthevehicle isparked. Thebackrestof theProRIDEshouldbeat approximatelya45-degree angle. 7 REAR-FACING 28 8 8. ftheProRIDEistooupright, I loosentheseatbeltand placeatightlyrolledtowelor foampoolnoodleunderthe baseunderwherethechild's feetwillbelocated. Checkyourvehicleowner'smanualtodetermine whichtypeofseatbeltsystemisineachseatinglocation. Theremaybealabellocatedonthedoorsideoftheseatbelt withinstructionsforusewithachildrestraint. Ifyourvehiclehasaswitchableretractor orlockinglatchplates, useLockingLapShoulderBeltInstallationinstructions - Latch Installation ·ALWAYSuseinreclinedpositionwheninstalledrear-facing. WARNING! [. . . ] Ifyoudonotfindanadequatesolution, below, callusat 1-800-8-RECAROforhelp. Severe damage to the ProRIDE could result!Theharnessmustbeloosenedbeforethe HeadRestraintcanbemovedupwards. Pressthe harnessadjusterleverandpulltheshoulderstraps outtoloosenthenraisetheheadrestraintwith theknob. Solution: Pressdownwardonthechildrestraintarmrestand firmlypulltheslackoutoftheseatbelt. Repeat pressingonotherarmrestwhilepullingseatbelt tight. Thiswillallowthechildrestrainttocompress thevehicle'sseatandallowtheseatbelttobe furthertightened. Ifseatbeltisnotlockingcall 1-800-8-RECAROforhelp. Refertoinstallation instructions, pages21-45. TROUBLE SHOOTING 55 Problem:TheProRIDEisnotstablewhendriving. Solution: hecktoseeifthereareitemsunderthebaseand C thattheseatbeltsaretightlysecured. Remove anythingfound. Somevehicleseatsaredeeply contouredmakingitdifficulttosafelyinstallachild restraint. IftheProRIDEisnotstableduetothe vehicleseatcushions, moveittoanotherseating location. [. . . ]
