Up Key Down Key Press this key to move through the menu or to decrease earpiece volume during calls. Press this key to move through the menu or to increase earpiece volume during calls. OK Key Press this key to confirm a menu selection or to scroll the number on the display. Loudspeaker Key Phone Book Key Press this key to consult your phone book. Press this key to turn on or off the handset loudspeaker. Answering Machine Key Hookswitch Key Use this key to make, answer or end calls. Press this key to operate your answering machine. Number/Character Keypad Use these keys for dialling and for entering characters. Recall/Menu Key Press this key to enter or leave menu mode, or to use the Recall function during a call. Redial Key Press this key to redial the last number called. Internal Call Key Press this key to make, answer or end internal calls and to transfer an outside call to another handset. Setting the dial mode This option sets the way your telephone sends numbers to the telephone line. You can choose one of two dial modes (TONE or PULSE). 1 Press R to enter menu mode. 5 Press o. Your handset beeps to indicate that the dial mode has been changed. 6 Press R to leave menu mode. Tip You can change the dial mode from PULSE to TONE during a call by pressing *. The dial mode will return to PULSE after the call. Note: Although this equipment can use either loop disconnect or DTMF signalling, only the performance of the DTMF signalling is subject to regulatory requirements for correct operation. Move closer to the base station and try again. Subscribe the handset to the base station and try again. Wait for the other handset to become available and try again. The handset emits an alert beep when you try to make an internal call. The handset you are trying to reach may be busy in an external call or out range. 40 Useful tips and maintenance Answering machine troubleshooting guide Problem The answering machine won't record your outgoing message.
