[. . . ] Armpit: place the tip under the armpit and with your upper arm hold the thermometer against the chest. In the case of rectal measurement you can read the body temperature quite quickly: about 1 minute suffices. When measuring in the mouth or under the arrnpit it takes slightly longer. - The bleeper will sound three times when the tip A has been brought to body temperature. Then the display will show a line of dots first and then the calibration value of 42. After a few seconds this value will disappear from the display and the thermometer is ready for use.
