When you hear an intermittent noise, water is intermittently pumped from the water tank into the boiler. If the noise continues for a long time or if it becomes very loud, first check whether the water tank is properly inserted into the appliance. If the ironing board is used for a prolonged period, too much steam condenses inside the ironing board, causing wet spots on the cover.
