Both methods are easy as all you have to do is to press the shutter button. 1 Set the mode dial to h i j k l m o r p P and press the power switch. · The viewfinder turns on. Note En 25 basic_e_po166_6. fm Page 26 Thursday, January 9, 2003 2:48 PM IF CORRECT FOCUS CANNOT BE OBTAINED (FOCUS LOCK) When the subject cannot be focused on, you can focus the camera on another point at roughly the same distance (focus lock) and take the picture as explained below. 1 Position the AF target mark on the subject you want to focus on. · When shooting a hard-to-focus subject or a fast-moving subject, point the camera at an object about the same distance away as the subject. Note ZOOMING IN ON A SUBJECT (OPTICAL ZOOM) Telephoto and wide-angle shooting are possible at 10x magnification (the optical zoom limit, equivalent to 38 mm ­ 380 mm on a 35 mm camera). By combining the optical zoom with the digital zoom, zoom magnification can be increased to a maximum of approximately 30x. to avoid camera movement.
