When the Flash is down, appears on the control panel and the flash is set to the OFF mode. The Fill-In Flash mode returns to the Auto-Flash mode after the power is turned off or the flash is closed. When you take a picture that is backlit, position the subject within the Autofocus mark to fire the flash. Except for the pre-flashes, this mode is the same as the Auto-Flash mode. Red-eye reduction may not be effective when the subject: · Is too far from the camera. Is not looking at the flash from the front or is not watching the pre-flashes. Has taken medication, alcohol or drugs which may interfere with the red-eye reduction process by slowing reflexes. For example, this mode can be used to brighten up the subject's shaded face. When the camera is connected to a computer, an error message appears while data is being transferred to the computer. * When no operations can be performed by pressing any buttons, push the Reset button in the Card compartment cover, then press the Power button.
