PACE view 4 SEC View current time Displays current time in upper secondary field within any view for 6 sec SPEED view Or Scroll to RUN mode DISTANCE view Or 5 Calibrating the Speed Distance Monitor [ SDM] Pod Once calibrated, your SDM Pod is over 97% accurate. Calibrate you SDM Pod by running 400-800 meters on a marked track, then adjust the watch to exact distance. You will need to calibrate the SDM Pod each time you replace the battery or the watch is reset by pressing and holding all four buttons at the same time ( see page 18 Watch display is frozen). [. . . ] Follow steps through to set the sampling interval. 4 EXIT Press buttons to adjust interval Press button to move backwards through the data points on graph 4 SEC Press button to move forwards through the data points on graph Scroll to GRAPH mode 4 SEC Clear Graph Hold to clear all graph data 9 Using the Chronograph In Chronograph mode, you can mark lap times and total times during your run. Both lap times and total times are captured simultaneously when you press the lap button. After you stop the chronograph, your run information is automatically saved in DATA mode. Follow steps through to use your chronograph. Mark Laps Lap time is the time required to go once around a track, or complete a segment of a run. LAP 1 and Mark Totals Total time is the time from the beginning of the run up to the point you mark. TOTAL 1 2 Start Run Mark Lap/Total You will have 7 sec to read your lap and total time Scroll to CHRONOGRAPH mode 10 Next Run or Clear Run Information LAP 2 LAP 3 LAP 4 4 SEC TOTAL 2 TOTAL 3 TOTAL 4 Next Run Hold 4 sec to save data from this run and move to next run 3 Mark Lap/Total Mark Lap/Total 4 SEC 4 Stop Run Run information is automatically entered into DATA mode. Clear Run Hold 4 sec to erase data for this run 11 Setting the Chronograph Auto-Lap The Chronograph contains an Auto-Lap feature. You can set a distance at which the watch will automatically mark a lap. Follow steps through to setup the Auto-Lap feature. EXIT 4 SEC 4 Scroll to CHRONOGRAPH mode Press button to select adjustable element LAP 1 Set Auto-Lap Start Run Set lap distance Press start / lap (Example: 1 mile) button Auto-Lap Marked (1 mile) LAP 2 Auto-Lap Marked (1 mile) Auto-Lap Distance Auto-Lap ON / OFF 12 Changing the Chronograph Display You can choose between four different display setups for your Chronograph. You can select Lap times, Split times, Distance or Pace for your primary display and Lap, Split or Distance for the two secondary fields. Follow steps through to customize your Chronograph display. EXIT 4 Choose between four different display settings 4 SEC or or Scroll to first display setting Scroll to CHRONOGRAPH mode or 13 Review Stored Runs In DATA mode you can review stored run information including total distance, total time, maximum / average pace, best / average lap. Follow steps through to view data stored for your runs. Clear Stored Runs 3 DATA auto-scrolls 3 SEC Select Run Hold 3 sec to clear selected run Scroll to DATA mode Hold 7 sec to clear all runs 14 Setting Training Intervals TIMER mode features a 5 segment countdown timer. You can use this as an interval training tool by exercising at a higher intensity for a certain period of time, followed by a recovery interval at a lower intensity level. Follow steps through to set your training intervals. EXIT Cycle Segments Press button to select beginning segment. See Reset Countdown. Start Countdown Stop Countdown 4 SEC 4 Scroll to TIMER mode Press button to select adjustable element 4 SEC Reset Countdown 4 SEC Clear All Segments Example: In this example Segment 1 is set at 00:03:30, Segment 2 is set at a 00:00:45 rest interval, Segment 3 is set at 00:02:00 and Segment 4 is a 00:00:30 rest interval. If this is your goal, you might want to train with the pace zone at 8:40/mi for the slow threshold and 8:20/mi for the fast threshold. 17 Troubleshooting Attachment to shoe: Make sure the SDM Pod is attached to the laces securely enough that there is no "wobble" when you are running. The Pod should be aligned with the foot and secured well enough that the alignment does not change during a run. Orthotics: People who wear orthotics or have extreme pronation or supination in their stride may experience reduced accuracy. Varying Paces: People who run at varying paces within a run may experience reduced accuracy. LED light on SDM Pod flashes rapidly: This indicates low battery power. [. . . ] For best results, you can have Nike's authorized service center change the watch battery. Open the battery lid on the watch with a coin by turning counterclockwise. Twist and remove battery holder cover. Remove old battery. Insert a CR2032, 3V lithium battery with the writing facing you. Do not touch the 2 contacts. Replace the battery holder cover and battery lid. WARNING!If swallowed, contact a doctor immediately. SDM Pod Battery Type: 2 AAA batteries Battery Life: The battery is estimated to last 50 hours.
