Moreover, the device monitors the appropriate positioning at definite intervals during the measurement cycle, thus providing additional safety and reliability. This watchdog feature allows patient self measurement in the practice, which may be beneficial in reducing the problem of white coat hypertension. For every blood pressure measurement at the wrist an appropriate measuring position at heart level is essential for accurate results. Stand close to the patient in a position so that you can easily see the display and the control buttons. In order to guarantee a correct measurement the position sensor should be switched off for the measurement (refer to «Pre-setting the position sensor»). Prevailing measurements on persons lying down, it may be necessary to de-activate the position sensor. For this purpose, you will find a select button (D) underneath the battery compartment cover.
