The machine's emission is specified in chapter Technical data and on label. Refuelling. Filling with oil and adjusting oil flow. [. . . ] This can overload the oil pump and result in damage to the oil pump components. Always stop the engine and let it cool for a few minutes before refuelling. When refuelling, open the fuel cap slowly so that any excess pressure is released gently. Always move the machine away from the refuelling area before starting. Make sure the fuel is well mixed by shaking the container before refuelling. The capacities of the chain oil tank and fuel tank are carefully matched. You should therefore always fill the chain oil tank and fuel tank at the same time. · 1 2 Never start the machine: If you have spilt fuel or chain oil on the machine. If you have spilt fuel on yourself or your clothes, change your clothes. When the engine starts, quickly apply full throttle; the throttle start lock will automatically disengage. As the chain brake is still engaged the speed of the engine must be set to idling as soon as possible, this is achieved by quickly disengaging the throttle lock. This prevents unnecessary wear to the clutch, clutch drum and brake band. If the machine is fitted with a decompression valve (A): Press the valve to reduce the pressure in the cylinder and make starting easier. You should always use the decompression valve when starting the machine. Once the machine has started the valve will automatically return to its original setting. H A English 19 STARTING AND STOPPING Note!Reactivate the chain brake by pushing the front hand guard back towards the front handle. The right hand should be on the rear handle, and the left hand on the front handle. Use a firm grip with thumbs and fingers encircling the chain saw handles. ! · WARNING!Long term inhalation of the engine's exhaust fumes, chain oil mist and dust from sawdust can represent a health risk. Never start a chain saw unless the bar, chain and all covers are fitted correctly. Without a bar and chain attached to the chain saw the clutch can come loose and cause serious injury. Stopping H · The chain brake should be activated when starting. [. . . ] Icing of the air filter and carburettor. For temperatures below -5°C and/or in snow conditions there is also: · · a special cover (A) for the starter housing a winter plug (B) for the air nozzle that is fitted as shown. Special measures are therefore often required: · Partly mask the air inlet on the starter to increase the working temperature of the engine. H H These reduce the flow of cooling air and prevent large amounts of snow from being sucked into the carburettor space. If the temperature rises above -5°C or 0°C respectively the machine MUST be restored to its normal set-up. Otherwise there is a risk of overheating, which can cause severe engine damage. English 35 MAINTENANCE Maintenance schedule The following is a list of the maintenance that must be performed on the machine. Weekly maintenance On chain saws without a catalytic converter, check the cooling system weekly. [. . . ]
