Connecting SATA Drives
Use the included SATA cables to connect internal SATA drives. Each cable can be used to connect one internal SATA drive to the Desktop Board?s SATA connectors. The blue SATA connectors support 6. 0 Gb/s and slower speed SATA devices while the black SATA connectors support 3. 0 Gb/s and slower speed SATA devices. The red SATA connector supports 3. 0 Gb/s and slower speed SATA devices and can be used to connect to an eSATA Port Adapter Bracket (not supplied) on the back panel. Attach one end of the SATA cable to one of the SATA connectors on the board (Figure 17, A) and attach the other end of the cable to the SATA drive data connector (Figure 17, B).

Front Panel Audio Header
The front panel audio header shown in Figure 18, A supports both Intel High Definition (HD) Audio and AC ?97 Audio. Chassis Intrusion Header
Figure 18, B shows the location of the chassis intrusion header. This header can be connected to a mechanical switch on the chassis to detect if the chassis cover is removed. This switch should be in the open position when the chassis cover is installed and closed when the cover is removed. NOTE
Computer systems that have an unshielded cable attached to a USB port might not meet FCC Class B requirements, even if no device or a low-speed USB device is attached to the cable. Use a shielded cable that meets the requirements for a full-speed USB device.

NOTE
When connecting individual wires from your chassis front panel to the front panel header, be sure to observe the connection polarity. Positive wires are usually solid color and negative wires are usually white or striped.

Alternate Front Panel Power LED Header
Figure 18, E shows the location of the alternate front panel power LED header. Pins 1 and 3 of this header duplicate the signals on pins 2 and 4 of the front panel header. [. . . ] If this is used near a radio or television receiver in a domestic environment, it may cause radio interference. Install and use the equipment according to the instruction manual.

Ensure Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Compliance
Before computer integration, make sure that the power supply and other modules or peripherals, as applicable, have passed Class B EMC testing and are marked accordingly. Pay close attention to the following when reading the installation instructions for the host chassis, power supply, and other modules: ?Product certifications or lack of certifications External I/O cable shielding and filtering Mounting, grounding, and bonding requirements Keying connectors when mating the wrong connectors could be hazardous
If the power supply and other modules or peripherals, as applicable, are not Class B EMC compliant before integration, then EMC testing may be required on a representative sample of the newly completed computer.
