[. . . ] These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. This equipment generates, uses, and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular installation. If this equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by turning the equipment off and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more of the following measures: ? [. . . ] When the DIMM is inserted, push down on the top edge of the DIMM until the retaining clips snap into place. Replace the computer?s cover and reconnect the AC power cord. 40 Installing and Replacing Desktop Board Components Removing DIMMs To remove a DIMM, follow these steps: 1. If a full length PCI Express graphics card is installed in the PCI Express x16 connector, remove the card to gain access to the DIMMs. Hold the DIMM by the edges, lift it away from the socket, and store it in an anti-static package. Reinstall the PCI Express graphics card if one was removed in Step 5 and reconnect any other parts you removed or disconnected to reach the DIMMs. Replace the computer?s cover and reconnect the AC power cord. Installing and Removing PCI Express x16 Graphics Cards Installing a PCI Express x16 Graphics Card CAUTION Before installing a PCI Express x16 graphics card, make sure that the tabs on the DIMM sockets are in the upright position (closed); otherwise, they may be damaged by the PCI Express card during installation. CAUTION When installing a PCI Express card, ensure that the card is fully seated in the PCI Express connector before you power on the system. If the card is not fully seated in the connector, an electrical short may result across the connector pins. Depending on the over-current protection of the power supply, certain Desktop Board components and/or traces may be damaged. Follow these instructions to install a PCI Express x16 graphics card: 1. Place the card in the PCI Express x16 connector (Figure 19, A) and press down on the card until it is completely seated in the connector and the card retention notch on the card snaps into place around the retention mechanism pin on the connector. Secure the card?s metal bracket to the chassis back panel with a screw (Figure 19, B). 41 Intel Desktop Board DH55TC Product Guide 4.
