Three criteria are used to determine the best gating option. SHOT WEIGHT MATERIAL COMPATABILITY GATE LOCATION VESTIGE The shot weight per nozzle required to fill the molded part will determine the nozzle size. The resin type to be processed determines suitable gating options. Resin properties to be taken into account include: Amorphous / Semi crystalline Abrasive Additives Used Color Change Frequency Gate location and acceptable gate vestige must be considered.
