[. . . ] If the Hand Held setting is on, the camera allows you to take photos with a slowest shutter speed of 1/8 second. If you turn the Hand Held setting off, the camera allows you take photos with a shutter speed as slow as 2 seconds. It is recommended that you use the camera with a tripod, or place the camera on a firm, stable surface if you need to use a slow shutter speed.
