Unplug this apparatus during lightning storms or when unused for long periods of time. Servicing is required when the apparatus has been damaged in any way, such as power-supply cord or plug is damaged, liquid has been spilled or objects have fallen into the apparatus, the apparatus has been exposed to rain or moisture, does not operate normally, or has been dropped. 14. GB FIN The apparatus shall be connected to a Mains socket outlet with a protective earthing connection. [. . . ] The output channel can be either mono or stereo depending on the status of the stereo button. When the channel is set to stereo, you will see that the tab for that mix doubles in size. This is due to the fact that the stereo version takes up 2 channels of the available total output channel count. Note that when pressing on the solo button on an output channel, that channel (i. e. You can name the current mix by typing the desired name in the text field below the output channel. For example, Mix 1 can be renamed "Monitor Mix", and Mix 5 named "Headphone 1 Mix". To copy an existing mix to another mix, simply click on "Copy Mix To. . . " and select the mix to which you would like to copy. Note that you can only copy a stereo mix to another stereo mix, and a mono mix to another mono mix. Therefore you must make sure that you have correctly set up the output channels to either stereo or mono before copying the mix. Click on "Sel. . . " to view a drop down menu of the available output destinations for the selected mix (see the drop down menu in the screenshot on the left side of this page). Select an output in this menu in order to choose the output destination for the selected mix. 16 Input FX Section The Saffire PRO 24 DSP can apply digital signal processing to both analogue inputs 1 and 2. The shelving mode doesn't require a Q control because the slope is fixed. The controls are: EQ ACTIVE Button - Click to turn the EQ on or off. FREQUENCY Knobs Set the frequency that the band affects, e. g. the centre frequency in bell mode, the cut-off frequency in high-pass /low-pass mode or the start of the shelf in shelving mode. GAIN Knobs Increase or decrease the level of the corresponding band of EQ. Rotate clockwise to increase and anticlockwise to decrease the level by up to 18dB. Q Knobs Set the level of resonance of the band, making the band have a more pronounced effect. Increasing Q decreases the bandwidth so that the bell acts on less of the frequency range. SHELVING/HIGH-PASS or LOW-PASS Switch Selects a low-shelf (upper) or high-pass (lower) for band 1, and a highshelf (upper) or low-pass (lower) for band 4. OUTPUT Knob Increases or decreases the level of the signal at the EQ output. Rotate clockwise to increase and anticlockwise to decrease the level by up to 36dB. Additional Controls FX Chain Order Button - Click to change the order in which Compressor and EQ are chained. If the Compressor is positioned above the EQ, the signal is compressed before EQ. With EQ positioned above the Compressor, EQ is applied before compression. FX Mono / Stereo Button - Click to switch between 2 channel Mono and 2 channel Stereo operation. When in Stereo mode, FX controls for input 2 on the right are unavailable. All parameter settings are set on the Left channel but are applied to both Left and Right channels. [. . . ] If it still shows "Disconnected" then restart the computer and then restart the Saffire PRO 24 DSP. Unit Name Text Field Allows naming of the Saffire PRO 24 DSP unit. Press enter (return) on your computer keyboard to complete. FireWire Driver In Use When the Audio Applications are open and using the Saffire PRO 24 driver, the FireWire Driver Status will show `In Use'. Various Settings will be unavailable until the Audio applications have been closed and the FireWire Driver Status and reverted to `Connected'. 30 Settings Menu This is a drop down menu containing all of the following items which allow you to set up different global/system configurations. This is the only part of Saffire MixControl software where there are differences between the Windows and Mac versions. [. . . ]
