[. . . ] Do not place the appliance on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven. Allow the unit to cool down before putting on or taking off parts, and before cleaning. Never use the carafe on a range top or in a conventional microwave oven. Scalding may occur if the cover is lifted or removed during the brewing cycle. [. . . ] Do not clean the carafe with cleansers, steel wool pads or other abrasive materials. Push the filter/water tank lid handspike forward to open the water tank lid and fill the water tank with the correct amount of water as indicated on the water gauge. 7 3. Ensure that the filter basket is properly seated and place the filter into the filter basket. The "RUN" indicator will be illuminated in blue and the appliance will begin the brewing cycle. The user may take out the carafe at any time during brewing to stop dripping automatically. However, the time cannot exceed 30 seconds and it is recommended to place the carafe back in position after serving. Carefully remove the filter basket and discard the used ground coffee. NOTE: The amount of coffee brewed will be little less than the amount of water put into the tank as some water will be absorbed by the coffee ground. To keep the coffee warm, return the carafe to the warning place after pouring the coffee. Unplug the power cord from the outlet when the appliance is not in use, left unattended, or when the carafe is empty. TIMER PROGRAMMING The programming feature allows the users to pre-set the time that the coffee maker will start brewing. A user may set up the programming at night time for a coffee maker to start brewing at certain time in the morning. Press the "ON/OFF" button twice and the "AUTO" indicator will illuminate in green. Press the "PROG" button and the LCD will display "CLOCK". Set the current time by pressing the "HOUR" and "MIN" buttons. (See Figure 2) NOTE: The time cycle is 12 hrs and "AM" & "PM" will transform once it goes beyond 12 hrs setting. Press the "PROG" button and the LCD will display "TIMER". Set the automatic start time by pressing the "HOUR" and "MIN" buttons. (See Figure 3) From the example shown, "AUTO" indicator will be extinguished at 8:15PM and the "RUN" indicator will be illuminated in blue. NOTE: If the coffee maker is left unattended for two hours after brewing, it will be shut off automatically. Cleaning and Maintenance COMPLETELY CLEAN AND DRY ALL PARTS AFTER EVERY USE. To protect against electrical shock, do not immerse cord, plug or unit in water or other liquid. The glass carafe, carafe lid, and filter basket may be washed with warm soapy water, or placed in the top rack of the dishwasher. [. . . ] Let the coffee maker cool for 15 minutes to soften the mineral deposits. 9 Pour the liquid that brewed into the carafe back into the water tank. Turn the coffee maker on and let all the cleaning solution brew into the carafe. Fill the coffee maker with fresh water and follow the steps in the "Before Your First Use" to flush out remaining cleaning solution. 11.
