Manual abstract: user guide DREMEL 761

Detailed instructions for use are in the User's Guide.

[. . . ] Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases or dust. A wrench or a key left attached to a rotating part of the power tool may result in personal injury. This enables better control of the power tool in unexpected situations. If devices are provided for the connection of dust extraction and collection facilities, ensure these are connected and properly used. [. . . ] If you lose control, the cord may be cut or snagged and your hand or arm may be pulled into the spinning accessory. Never lay the power tool down until the accessory has come to a complete stop. The spinning accessory may grab the surface and pull the power tool out of your control. Accidental contact with the spinning accessory could snag your clothing, pulling the accessory into your body. The motor's fan will draw the dust inside the housing and excessive accumulation of powdered metal may cause electrical hazards. Using water or other liquid coolants may result in electrocution or shock. Kickback is a sudden reaction to a pinched or snagged rotating wheel, backing pad, brush or any other accessory. Pinching or snagging causes rapid stalling of the rotating accessory which in turn causes the uncontrolled power tool to be forced in the direction opposite of the accessory's rotation at the point of the binding. For example, if an abrasive wheel is snagged or pinched by the workpiece, the edge of the wheel that is entering into the pinch point can dig into the surface of the material causing the wheel to climb out or kick out. The wheel may either jump toward or away from the operator, depending on direction of the wheel's movement at the point of pinching. Kickback is the result of power tool misuse and/or incorrect operating procedures or conditions and can be avoided by taking proper precautions as given below. Use extra caution when making a "pocket cut" into existing walls or other blind areas. The protruding wheel may cut gas or water pipes, electrical wiring or objects that can cause kickback. According the European Guideline 2002/96/EC for Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment and its implementation into national right, power tools that are no longer usable must be collected separately and disposed of in an environmentally correct manner. Use completely unrolled and safe extension cords with a capacity of 5 Amps. Larger sanding paper extending beyond the sanding pad presents a laceration hazard and may cause snagging, tearing of the disc, or kickback. Always check that the supply voltage is the same as the voltage indicated on the nameplate of the tool (tools with a rating of 230V or 240V can also be connected to a 220V supply). Install the appropriate size collet fully into the shaft and reinstall the collet nut finger tight. Do not fully tighten the nut when there is no bit or accessory installed. The Dremel multitool is a high quality precision tool that can be used to perform detailed and intricate tasks. The wide range of Dremel accessories and attachments allow you to perform a large variety of tasks. Press the shaft lock button and rotate the shaft by hand until it engages the shaft lock. [. . . ] The brushes in your tool have been engineered for many hours of dependable service. To prepare the brushes for use, run the tool at full speed for 5 minutes under no load. This will properly "seat" the brushes, and extend the life of the tool. to maintain peak efficiency of the motor , examine the brushes for wear every 40-50 hours. [. . . ]
