PREPARING FOR WATER MODE
OPERATION

Oncetheappliancehasbeeninstalled, itisready foruse. However, itsefficiencycanbeenhancedbyoperatingitintheexclusiveDe'Longhiwatermode. ThewaterinthetankincreasesthecoolingpowerofyourPinguinoandatthesametimereducesnoiselevelsandelectricalconsumption. Comparedtoair, waterreducesthetemperature ofthecoolingcircuitmuchmoreefficiently, beforebeinggivenofffromtheairexhausthosein theformofvapour. Rememberthat: · You must always use salt-free clean mains water. · Thelengthoftimethewaterinthetanklasts depends greatly on environmental conditionssuchastemperature, humidity, insulation, theexposureoftheroom, thenumber ofpeoplepresent, etc. TheBOOSTfunction(seepage30)shortens theoperatingtimetoabout4hours, butthe coolingpowerandefficiencyareincreased. · When the water in the tank runs out, the light comesonandoperationofthe applianceswitchesautomaticallytoair-air. The appliance is fitted with a resin limescale filter enabling normal tap water to be used. The impregnated resins reduce water hardness and therefore prolong the working life of the appliance. If in Air conditioning, Dehumidifying and in the Smart mode function, the "No water" symbol is displayed, it's necessary to fill the tank in order to obtain optimum performances.

· Point the remote control at the receiver on the appliance. The remote control must be no more than 7 metres away from the appliance (without obstacles between the remotecontrolandthereceiver). · The remote control must be handled with extremecare. Donotdropitorexposeitto directsunlightorsourcesofheat.

Holdthebuttondowntorunrapidlythrough firsttheminutes, thenthetensofminutes. · Oncethecorrecttimehasbeenreached, releasethebuttonandpresstheOKbuttonto confirm. · To cancel the settings programmed on the remotecontrolandrestoretheoriginalsettings, pressthebuttonlightlywiththe pointofapencilorpen.
Setting the time
· Removethecoverontherearoftheremote control(fig. 25); · Insert two R03 "AAA" 1. 5V batteries in the correctposition(seeinstructionsinsidethe batterycompartment); · Replacethecover. Iftheremotecontrolunitisreplacedordisposed of, the batteries must be removed and discarded in accordance with current legislation as they are harmful to the environment. Do not mix alkaline, standard (zinc-carbon) and rechargeable (nickel-cadmium) batteries. Do not throw the batteries in the fire astheycouldexplodeorleakdangerousliquids.
Inserting or replacing the batteries
