[. . . ] To set the horizontal direction of airflow, hold the fan housing neck in one hand, make sure the oscillating knob is in the up position and then turn the cage left or right. OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS (CONTINUED) 4. To control the vertical direction of airflow, grip the handle on top of the fan tightly and loosen the knob on the side of the fan housing neck. To make the fan oscillate, push down on the oscillating knob located on the top of the fan housing, near the handle. To stop the fan from oscillating, pull up on the oscillating knob. 6. To select a speed on the table model move the switch knob located on the base of the fan from OFF to the desired speed setting of I (low), II (medium) or III (high). USER MAINTENANCE & CLEANING This fan is permanently lubricated and will not require additional lubrication (oil) for the life of the fan. For safety reasons, and to assure that the grill does not become damaged, remove the screws starting at the bottom, leaving one of the top screws for last. Do not allow water or any other liquid to get into the motor housing or base. To do so, align the align the front grill to match up with the holes from the back grill (assuring the Moderne logo is upright), then starting at the top insert one of the 8 screws and repeat until all 8 screws are installed and tightened. Take the trim ring and place it back over the grill, making sure that you do not bend the trim ring. Insert the knurled screw through the bottom eyelets of the trim ring and tighten the nut. Do not plug the fan into an electrical outlet until it has been fully reassembled.
