Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter, or touch hot surfaces. Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven. Always attach plug to appliance first, then plug cord into the wall outlet (for appliances with detachable cords). [. . . ] Turn the Control dial to the "brew" position the unit will begin to dispense automatically. The brew status indicator will illuminate for the duration of the dispense cycle. When the desired amount of coffee has been dispensed turn the Control dial to the `Standby' position. NOTE: coffee will continue to flow for a short time after the Control dial has been moved to the `Standby' position, as coffee drains from the portafilter. Fill the water tank to the "MAX" marking with clean, filtered water. NOTE: Any type of milk can be used ­ soy, rice, almond, coconut, etc. NOTE: The ready indicator light will pulse while the water is heating up. Once the unit reaches the correct temperature, the ready indicator light will turn solid. Turn the Control dial to steam, and steam will be emitted from the steam wand. NOTE: After steaming milk, the unit must be allowed to cool for a few minutes, or the cool down cycle operation performed as it will be too hot to make coffee. It is recommended when making multiple drinks with steamed milk, you should make the espresso shots first, before steaming the milk.
