Position the Instant Cappuccino on a stable flat surface, close to a mains power socket and out of the reach of children. [. . . ] COFFEE CHAMBER (figure E) Any granules that have not been removed by the cleaning process use a dry cloth to dislodge the granules and wipe the camber clean. Wipe the outside of the unit with a damp soapy cloth then wipe dry with a dry soft cloth. If the Instant Cappuccino is not going to be used for a period of time the water tank can be emptied. Ensure the machine is turned off and unplugged and has been allowed to cool before commencing. B D CLEANING TRAY CLEANING TRAY (figure A) The Instant Cappuccino maker has a cleaning tray that slides into the rear of the machine. It is designed to catch small quantities of coffee granules and drips of water and milk. Remove and clean this tray in warm soapy water. DRIP TRAY (figure B) 1. The sides of the drip tray have tabs, lift these to remove the drip tray and cover. Lift the cover from the drip tray and wash both parts in warm soapy water. Dry and replace back in the Instant Cappuccino before next use. CLEANING TRAY E CLEANING TRAY A F 10 11 Breville IC Instructions 13/11/06 4:29 pm Page 13 TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE If you are having trouble with the Instant Cappuccino please check the following: Problem Possible Causes and Corrective Action 1. Coffee granules are sticking to the inside of the internal mechanism. 1. The machine will automatically clear in a few seconds and cappuccino will dispense normally. 1. A small amount of cappuccino will continue to be dispensed as the machine finishes its cycle. This is the residual milk left in the pipe that has not been drawn into the machine when the STOP was selected. 6. The machine makes a loud noise and creates a lot of steam while dispensing cappuccino. 1. The machine has a safety device that switches the machine off after approximately 2 hours. It is perfectly normal for the light to go on and off whilst the machine is in use. Follow the cleaning procedure on page 7 and instead of flushing with clean water use warm water with bicarbonate of soda, or if this does not work, washing up detergent. After this flush the system a minimum of four times with clean water to remove the detergent. The machine was not cleaned properly after last use. Breville IC Instructions 13/11/06 4:29 pm Page 15 INGREDIENT INFORMATION & RECIPES MILK - It is possible to use fresh or long life milk and a variety of different types, skimmed, semiskimmed and whole. The ratio of milk to water will depend on each individual so experiment to find your own personal preference INSTANT COFFEE - This machine will use your favourite brand and variety of instant coffee granules. Following are some recipes you may like to try with your Instant Cappuccino: CAPPUCCINO INGREDIENTS • Instant coffee - fill coffee chamber • Semi-skimmed milk - fill to required mug/cup level indicated on milk tank. [. . . ] This appliance must be earthed. If this appliance is fitted with a rewirable BS1363/A, 13 amp plug, the fuse should be rated at 13 amps and be ASTA approved to BS1362. However, if the plug is unsuitable, it should be dismantled and removed from the supply cord and an appropriate plug fitted as detailed below. If this appliance is fitted with a moulded BS1363/A 13 amp plug, the fuse should be rated at 13 amps and be ASTA approved to BS1362. If the fuse in a non-rewirable plug needs to be changed, the fuse cover must be refitted. [. . . ]
