Manual abstract: user guide BOSCH PKS 40

Detailed instructions for use are in the User's Guide.

[. . . ] Failure to follow the warnings and instructions may result in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury. The term "power tool" in the warnings refers to your mains-operated (corded) power tool or battery-operated (cordless) power tool. B) Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases or dust. unmodified plugs and matching outlets will reduce risk of electric shock. [. . . ] Always observe that the lower guard is covering the blade before placing saw down on bench or floor. An unprotected, coasting blade will cause the saw to walk backwards, cutting whatever is in its path. Be aware of the time it takes for the blade to stop after switch is released. For the riving knife to work, it must be thicker than the body of the blade but thinner than the tooth set of the blade. English | 21 Adjust the riving knife as described in this instruction manual. Incorrect spacing, positioning and alignment can make the riving knife ineffective in preventing kickback. Riving knife causes interference during plunge cutting and can create kickback. The riving knife is ineffective in preventing kickback during short cuts. In this manner you do not have sufficient control over the power tool. Use suitable detectors to determine if utility lines are hidden in the work area or call the local utility company for assistance. Penetrating a water line causes property damage or may cause an electric shock. When working with the machine, always hold it firmly with both hands and provide for a secure stance. A workpiece clamped with clamping devices or in a vice is held more secure than by hand. Always wait until the machine has come to a complete stop before placing it down. The tool insert can jam and lead to loss of control over the power tool. Do not touch the damaged cable and pull the mains plug when the cable is damaged while working. Failure to follow the warnings and instructions may result in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury. The machine is intended for lengthways and crossways cutting of wood with straight cutting lines as well as mitre cuts in wood while resting firmly on the workpiece. Removal of the Saw Blade (see figure A) Tilt back the retracting blade guard 11 and hold firmly. Lock the clamping flange 20 using an openend spanner 19 (size 22 mm) or position the saw blade 21 onto a piece of wood. With the Allen key 3, unscrew the clamping bolt 18 turning in rotation direction . Remove the clamping flange 20 and the saw blade 21 from the saw spindle 23. [. . . ] The following work steps are required for exact cuts using the guide rail 27: Place the guide rail 27 on to the workpiece projecting lightly over the side. Pay attention that the side with the rubber lip faces to the workpiece. Two guide rails can be connected to one with use of the connection piece 28. Align the circular saw with guide-rail adapter in such a manner that the teeth of the saw blade 21 face against the rubber lip.
