An audible clicking sound should be present while turning the handle in a forward rotation. If this clicking sound is not present, pull latch release down to engage. If the clicking sound is still not present, improper installation may have occurred. Re-check installation and contact the Barnett Service Department at 1-800-237-4507. Note: The Crank Cocking Device cannot be turned in reverse while the latching mechanism is engaged. Once the crossbow is cocked, the latch must be disengaged so that the string hooks can be removed from the string. Always leave the latch mechanism engaged when the crossbow is not in use. Uncocking the Crossbow Do not uncock the crossbow with the Crank Cocking Device. The best way to uncock a crossbow with a Crank Cocking Device attached is to shoot an arrow into the ground.
