You are recommended to upgrade the Boot ROM only when the host software to be loaded does not match the existing Boot ROM version. You can use the Boot Menu to load a Boot ROM and host software of only SRPUs. To load a Boot ROM of LPUs, you must use command lines. 7. 1. 2 Loading Software through Command Lines You can load software through command lines using: FTP TFTP 7. 2 Loading Software Through the Boot Menu If your terminal is directly connected to the switch, you can load a Boot ROM and host software of SRPUs. Before loading, make sure that your terminal is correctly connected to the switch. 7-1 Installation Manual H3C S7500 Series Ethernet Switches Chapter 7 Software Maintenance Note: You can follow the same procedure to load a Boot ROM and host software, except that in a Boot ROM loading process you need to press Ctrl + U and Enter and will view different prompt information after entering the Boot menu. All loading procedures described in this chapter focus on how to load a Boot ROM. 7. 2. 1 BOOT Menu Upon power-on, the switch will run the Boot ROM program and the terminal will display the following information: ****************************************** * * * H3C S7506 BOOTROM, Version 530 * * * ****************************************** Copyright(c) 2004-2007 Hangzhou H3C Tech. [. . . ] You can use cable clips and screws to fasten the lightning arrester for AC power on the cabinet, workbench or the wall of equipment room. Figure C-1 Diagram of lightning arrester C-1 Installation Manual H3C S7500 Series Ethernet Switches Appendix C Lightning Protection Caution: Make sure that the arrester is well grounded before using the lightning arrester for power. After inserting AC power cable connector of switch into the socket of lightning arrester, if the green LED is on and the red LED does not alarm, it means that the lightning arrester of power is running and the function of lightning protection has taken effect. You should correctly locate the problem, whether it is caused because the grounding cable of the arrester is not well grounded or because the live and zero wires are connected in reverse direction. When the red LED is on, use a multimeter to examine polarity at the power socket of the arrester. [. . . ]
