[. . . ] The Firewall Configuration page changes dynamically as shown in the following illustration. 2 Select Delete from the Edit Mode drop-down menu. 3 Select the interface that the filter is attached to from the Attachment Interface drop-down menu. 4 Select the appropriate filter assignment category (Filter on Input, Filter on Output) from the Filter Assignment drop-down menu. Please note that this action removes only the association of the filter to the particular interface. The filter file can still be used for other interfaces at a later date. VPN Configuration 8 - 19 VPN Configuration The VPN Tunnel Configuration page lets you create, modify and delete VPN (Virtual Private Network) tunnels for the following protocols: Point-to-Point Tunneling Protocol (PPTP), IP Security (IPSec), and Layer Two Tunneling Protocol (L2TP). The fields on this page will change dynamically based on the VPN protocol and tunnel mode you select. To access the VPN Tunnel Configuration page, perform the following steps: 1 From your web browser, access the OfficeConnect Gateway page (Default IP address: 192. 168. 1. 1). The Configuration options are displayed on the left-hand frame of the OfficeConnect Gateway page. 2 Click VPN Configuration (located in the Advanced section of the left-hand frame). The VPN Tunnel Configuration page is displayed. 8 - 20 CHAPTER 8: ADVANCED CONFIGURATION FEATURES The following sections describe how to configure, create, modify and delete VPN Tunnels. I I I I I Create a VPN Configuration Using PPTP Create a VPN Configuration Using IPSec Create a VPN Configuration Using L2TP Modify a VPN Configuration Delete a VPN Configuration If you are using Windows 2000 Server or Windows 2000 Pro, you need to make the following changes to the system registry in order for IPSec and L2TP tunnels to work properly. 2 Locate the following key in the registry: \HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINES\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Rasma n\Parameters 3 On the Edit menu, click Add Value and then add the following registry value: Value Name: ProhibitIpSec Data Type: REG_DWORD Value: 1 4 Quit the Registry Editor. 5 Reboot your PC for the changes you made to the Registry Settings to take effect. To Create a VPN Configuration using PPTP To create a VPN Tunnel Configuration using PPTP, perform the following steps: 1 Select Create from the Edit Mode drop-down menu. 2 Enter a name for the VPN Tunnel you want to create in the VPN Name field. 4 Select the appropriate mode (Initiator or Terminator) in the Tunnel Mode drop-down menu. If you will be initiating the VPN Tunnel to a Remote Workstation, select Initiator. VPN Configuration 8 - 21 If you will be terminating the VPN Tunnel from a Remote Workstation, select Terminator. If you select Terminator the VPN Configuration page will dynamically change to reflect this selection. Terminator Tunnel Mode If you selected Terminator for your Tunnel Mode, perform the following steps: 1 Enter the password for the VPN Tunnel in the Session Password field. This pool contains the pool of IP Addresses that will be used by the OfficeConnect Gateway to respond to requests for an IP Address from the remote server.
